Solidariteitsfonds bewoners hotel Apollo

Met veel afschuw waren we getuige van de beelden van de fascistische groep Voorpost die hotel Apollo in Zutendaal bestormden begin juli.
Aanleiding voor hun geweld en agressie is de omvorming van het hotel tot een asielcentrum. Vandaag zien we de gevolgen in de UK, België en Europa van jarenlange extreemrechtse ophitsing tegen migranten in de mainstream media en politiek.
We willen een stevig antifascistisch signaal geven. Na overleg met het Rode Kruis besloten we een crowdfunding op poten te zetten om voor de jonge kinderen in hotel Apollo buitenspeelgoed te kunnen aankopen.
Daarnaast kondigen we binnenkort een actie aan waarbij we postkaartjes zullen schrijven om onze solidariteit met de bewoners te tonen. Hou dus zeker deze pagina in de gaten!

It was with great horror that we witnessed the images of the fascist group Voorpost storming Hotel Apollo in Zutendaal in early July.
The reason for their violence and aggression is the conversion of the hotel into an asylum center. Today we see the consequences in the UK, Belgium and Europe of years of far-right incitement against migrants in mainstream media and politics.
We want to send a strong anti-fascist message. After consulting with the Red Cross, we decided to set up a crowdfunding to purchase outdoor toys for the young children at Hotel Apollo.
In addition, we will soon announce an action in which we will write postcards to the residents as a sign of our solidarity. Be sure to keep an eye on this page!
